Mount Baker via Easton Glacier

Ascent on September 3-4, 2022.

It was a walk up! We summited with our friend Sho. It was a memorable one for two reasons. It was our first successful mountaineering objective this season after doing the intro to mountaineering course. It was also a mountain we’ve both been eyeing since moving to Vancouver years ago and have wanted to summit for the last year. It was much easier than we had expected due to the heavy boot pack reducing the need for navigating around crevasses. This was our main concern before the trip.  
We stayed overnight at Sandy Camp and started at 3am on the 4th. We got back to the car around 4pm.

  Joffre Peak (2721m) via Aussie Couloir attempt #2 (see attempt #1 below) on February 5, 2024. Kai and I decided to head back here this past weekend, with favourable avalanche conditions and weather forecast. We did Mt Matier last spring and on our way down the mountain we were eyeing this beauty! I was hesitant about Joffre at first, just as I was hesitant about Matier when I first thought about going for it. I had met Nikita at the hut the night before climbing Matier. She told me she just did the climb and felt nervous but was able to overcome it - and that was on her own! I found Joffre daunting when I first saw it too but after seeing Nikita’s trip report a couple of weeks later, I felt inspired to go for it with Kai in the near future. Mount Shuksan via Fisher Chimneys and East Ridge

 Mount Shuksan (2784m) August 3-5, 2024. Izzy, Kai and I were looking for an objective worthy of a long weekend. We set our eyes on Mount Shuksan as it has been on all of our lists for some time now and what better time to cross the border and summit then on a Canadian holiday. Diana was in Europe and Sho went on a trad climbing trip in Eldred Valley so it was just us three this time. Day 1: It is about a 2h drive from our home. We were unable to acquire a permit online because they were sold out. However, once at the North Cascades National Park ranger's station we were able to snag the last walk in permit (of six!) - super lucky.  The Lake Ann trailhead parking lot was lit but we again managed to snag a spot. We started the hike in the late afternoon and arrived at Lake Ann after about 2h15min to set up camp.
